threw it to some assholes, told them i was their boss now
and then shot it up real nice

[An hour later, as promised, Kate shows up with a six pack of beer in one hand and a bag in the other. She rings the bell, and when Jason answers, she holds both up as greeting.]

Hey. Still alive?

[reneger]

( alive, definitely. jason opens the door wearing under armor-esque leggings, no shirt as promised, but--there is a shitton of gauze stuck over his sternum, the stitches over his gut left uncovered to air. )

I'm too stubborn to die from shit like this.

( but he moves to the side, leaving a forearm on the wall for leverage. )

[fledges]

[She clicks her tongue when she gets a look at his torso, then slips in past him.]

You look like a pincushion. Are you okay?

[reneger]

Oh, yeah. Don't worry about me, I've had a lot worse.

( he asked for most of it, too. there are bruises at his neck, bruising along the mess of stitches. . he's a mess, but at least jason has mostly cleaned up. )

What's in the bag?

[fledges]

[She smiles, offering him the bag.]

Ice cream, as promised. I know, I'm amazing.

[reneger]

( a hand extends out to take it while the other presses to his chest, like he's trying to keep all those organs inside instead of outside. but jason doesn't comment on it, just moves towards the kitchen. spoons are necessary for ice cream even if bowls aren't. )

I'll give you points for that.

[fledges]

[She grins as she follows, opening a drawer at random in a hunt for a bottle opener.]

Thanks. You're making yourself at home, huh?

[reneger]

( two spoons get pulled out of the next drawer jason gets to, before he's staggering his way back over to the couch. considering the obvious lack of any kind of fucking weapon on him, he must be fairly comfortable. )

If I'm gonna be here a while, why not?

[fledges]

[Kate laughs at that, finally digging out the bottle opener and following him to the couch with the beer.]

Because Loki is a weirdo?

[She says it perfectly affectionately.]

( jason's careful when he moves to sit, bending cautiously as to not strain anything. not fuck up anything, because he keeps doing it anyway. )

Nah, Lo's fine.

( weird but in a way jason appreciates. )

Makes good pancakes, too.

Lo, huh?

[She sits, then pops open one of the beers and hands it over.]

You two are using nicknames now?

[reneger]

Two syllables is clearly too many.

( a soft "thanks" as he takes the beer in hand, takes a good few swigs from the bottle. )
