( beer down between his legs and he raises a hand, moves his index finger around in a circular motion. )

[Kate laughs, but she does as he asks, putting down her beer and standing up. She twirls with a little flourish, then curtseys.]

Lean muscle, but enough that it's there. ( eyes move down to her hands for a moment, lips pursing. )

Callouses show you've used a bow for a bit. My best friend back home's an archer. Bit bulkier, but he punches the crap out of people too. You have any extra-human abilities before they did creepy experiments on you?

[fledges]

[She whistles, long and low.]

Impressive, Malone. I've never had any powers, unless you count being a kickass marksman.

[She gasps.]

[She flops back down beside him.]

I kicked his ass at marksmanship. Not hand to hand, unfortunately.

( hholding out a hand towards one of her own. let him see. )

[She gives him a Look, but holds her hand out for him.]

He wasn't going easy on me. He was annoyed I did better than he did.

( his own are rough, covered in callouses, fingers bent unnaturally from several years of fucking them over--the empathy link burns with curiousity, amusement. he's. fairly comfortable with this at least. )

Played with more than just bows, huh. How many years has it been? An' I'll take it back. Kid beats me in everything.

[Kate laughs at that, tugging at one of his fingers. She's content and calm, but more than that, she's having fun with him.]

He tells me he beats everyone at everything. And how many years for what?

( there's pride in that, too. love. emotions jason would never voice but definitely has. )

[Cute. Kate's clearly pleased at that little rush of emotions.]

( but he's done with the touching thank you. pulling his hand back!! and grabbing back onto his beer. )

[Kate lets his hand go without a fight, raising her eyebrows.]

A vet, huh? Have you ever thought of getting, like, a hand massage?

Why would I need one? My hands are fine.

( as good as they're going to get anyway. )

[reneger]

August sixteenth.

( lowering the beer bottle down once more to flex his fingers, moving both hands in front of him to stretch out wrists. )

( ah, cute. good job, kate. she's slowly worming her way into his heart. )
