[And then her expression softens, and she reaches out to touch his arm.]

he smiles back at her still. ]

Hey, it's no problem. Where should I put these?

[She leads him inside, gesturing to the little kitchenette near the door.]

Damian's not around, if you were hoping to see him.

It's okay. [ he would have liked to but he understands it's a bad idea. ]

Not sure what I'd say to him, and I don't think he wants to see me. Bad combo.

[She wrinkles her nose at that.]

I think he wants to see you, he just can't handle being vulnerable.

[ dick sighs. ]

I know that feeling. [ too well. he used to shove bruce off and want the comfort at the same time. ]

I'll wait it out, it's not a problem.

[Kate sighs, too.]

[Kate digs a pair of chopsticks out of the bag and gestures vaguely.]

My dad took me to counselling. After I lost my family at the circus. [ he hadn't been the easiest child to corral. bruce had come with him to sit into the session. then he might have realized it was fruitless. dick didn't bother to finish out all the appointments. ]

We really tried, but it didn't help. I was too angry - I didn't want to talk, I needed to do something to feel in control. [ he wanted vengeance on zucco. and now zucco was dead. ]

I think we're all a little like that. Damian probably has it worst, with his mom...

[ dick sighs. ]

[Oh. Kate's expression softens.]

I felt that way when my mom died, too. I was angry for a long time.

[So she gets it.]

You guys just worry me sometimes, that's all.

[ he concedes something to her. ]

I'm still angry. [ even when zucco was dead. his thirst for vengeance was quenched.

but it didn't make him feel any better. ]

And I'm sorry you know what that's like.

[ he flops on the couch, spreading out to be as chill as possible. physical stance affects emotions. if he stands up he could get tense.

now it feels more like a conversation. and he did come here to talk to kate. ]

I can't say I won't worry you either, but I guess that's just part of the deal, huh? You worry me, I worry you... we take turns on the worry go round... [ kanyeshrug ]

Sometimes I'm still angry, too.

[Kate moves to sit beside him, then reaches out to touch his arm gently, careful not to touch bare skin.]

As long as you don't run off and try to kill someone, I think I can deal.

[ dick snorts coldly ]

Only one person like that and he's dead. [ he was involved. didn't shoot at him. but it was satisfying to know tony zucco was gone from the world. ]

I'm not looking to make a hit list. [ he sees her comforting touch and leans towards her shoulder to reciprocate ]

[Well, that's... mixed information. Kate smiles a little, hesitantly.]

Hey, you never know. A lot of people seem to jump to hit lists around here.

Killing is a big no no in my book.

[And she knows that varies from superhero to superhero, but not for her.]
